Trump Demands Military Allegiance
the Oath of Allegiance has kept us safe
This is for those who may not have heard Trump’s latest demand and for those who may not understand what his demand means.
Hi Everyone,
I apologize for posting so often this week. I post in case someone didn’t hear the following news broadcast.
Yesterday, November 12, 2024, a TV reporter on CBS evening news (channel 46, Atlanta GA) said that Trump was demanding that the military give allegiance to him (Trump).
The military’s oath is similar to the one many of us have taken:
“-- that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic—“.
I took this oath when I got a student loan, when I worked for the federal government, and probably at other times which I no longer remember.
The Oath of Allegiance
This oath says “support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America; it does not say “support and defend any political party, politician, religion or religious leader, etc.
It says, “support and defend the Constitution” a very specific thing belonging to a very specific place “the United States of America”.
Because of this oath, the United States has been spared what is going on in Yemen, Syria, and perhaps in some African nations. These countries are being torn about by generals who want to be the supreme general or top dog in their country.
Even after all the terrible things Trump has said about the US military and its heroes, some military people voted for him.
Betrayal
Like many of you, I have been betrayed many times. I cannot swear allegiance to any person, male or female. My ability to trust was destroyed long ago.
This demand feels like the ultimate betrayal.
I don’t care how much this demand is white-washed or explained or justified or denied, I will never understand why the people who have the power to stop Trump haven’t stopped him.
Action
As one who has been betrayed many times, now is the time to follow the steps for creating the world I want. I promised I would write about those steps, but this new demand was too upsetting not to put pen to paper.
The first step is to make a decision. My decision is to keep my oath.
The second step is to name one thing that I would change in the world.
Considering the gravity of the situation my country finds itself in, I would change the moral code of Americans to one that finds betrayal ( like betraying wives), lies (like how many times have fact-checkers found that what comes out of Trump’s mouth are lies), and criminal activity unacceptable, totally and completely unacceptable
.

Dr. Barb, spreading light, fading darkness
Looks like this is one of the many lessons that Trump has learned from Der Fũhrer. All of his members of the German military were required to take this oath:
“I swear by God this holy oath, that I will render to Adolf Hitler, Führer of the German Reich and People, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, unconditional obedience, and that I am ready, as a brave soldier, to risk my life at any time for this oath.”
